Dojang Rules
- The dojang (training area), no matter where it is located, must be regarded as a temple of serenity. When you enter the dojang you must have the proper attire and the proper spirit. That spirit and willingness to train is demonstrated by bowing when entering and leaving the training area.
- You must observe proper etiquette. You must bow to the masters and instructors, properly. If carrying something, you must put it down and then bow.
- Hats, shoes, and jewelry must be removed before entering the training floor.
- Dobok must be on before entering the training floor, belt tied, etc... If it is necessary to adjust your dobok while training, student must turn away from the instructor, then adjust uniform.
- Dobok must be washed frequently for good hygine. An unclean uniform is unhealthy and distracting to other students.
- There is absolutely no alcohol, smoking, or gum chewing at all in the dojang.
- No talking or unnecessary noise on the training floor. No talking to spectators or other students unless instructed to by the master.
- Students will answer all instructors with "Yes Sir". Instructors will always be referred to by: Sir, Sunbae Nim, Sabum Nim, Kwan Jang Nim, or Kuksa Nim (Grandmaster).
- There is no sparring or practicing techniques without supervision of the instructor.
- It is necessary to obey and respect instructors and higher ranks; students must maintain mental and spiritual concentration.
- If you have a question, raise your hand and wait for the instructor to acknowledge you.
- If late, you must show respect to the class in session by kneeling in Jung Do in quiet meditation until instructor acknowledges you.
